Merry Christmas, people

Christmas Eve:D

In a cruel twist of fate (Pearlie's), Gabriel invited us (Domtan, Valerie) to his Christmas party. Mah and I saw Daniel, Jessica, Cheryl and Trina at the bus stop outside the interchange and we started freaking out and trying to hide. Because Domtan couldn't get home early enough, we managed to miss the bus they boarded, thank goodness:)

When we finally boarded no. 70, Gabriel told me to look out for "a construction site on the left and grass on the right". So when we spotted both landmarks, we alighted and made our way into the estate. Predictably, we got lost. We had walked for nearly 20 minutes before Valerie and I realised that we were lost because the bloody provision shop was nowhere in sight. Domtan got extremely grumpy, and even more so when Valerie and I began laughing as though we had lost our marbles as we lost our marbles. To quote Valerie, "Oh yeah, the provision shop is on the other side!" A hungry Domtan is a sad Domtan. So we the woeful trio trudged back out of bloody Seletar Road and finally found the provision shop! Thanks to Valerie, actually :)

WHEN WE ARRIVED. Omg it was bloody awesome. Pearlie was sitting at the tv area watching a movie with the girls, and when we saw us walking in, her face turned black (according to Domtan) and she began to pretend to text because she was so nervous (obviously). We left our stuff in the study, and later the girls (inclusive of P) relocated there, and I didn't want my phone to be within a one-foot radius of P due to certain safety hazards (haha). Being completely evil, we had Gabriel walk in and extract the phone from my bag. Sadly we couldn't see what her reaction was :)

Then the even cooler stuff happened. His cousins arrived in droves and they, along with inquisitive aunts, began a hunt for Gabriel's elusive girlfriend. The search team thundered by Valerie, Domtan, Phyllis and me as we were just loitering at the stair landing, nary casting us a glance :) Truly like a fly on the wall when everyone's looking for that fly. Hahaha.

Valerie, Domtan, Phyllis and I went to get some food, and Gabriel's dad came to our table to see how we were doing, and then Valerie and Phyllis told him that I was Gabriel's girlfriend! His dad's reaction was DAMN COOL. He peered down at me, and said solemnly,
"You're going to regret it."
HAHAHAHA WHAT A COOL DAD RIGHT!

Anyway, the E3 people at the dining table just a few metres away from ours were trying to guess who Gabriel's girlfriend was, and P guessed that it was me, and then she said something along the lines of, "We don't really care." HAHAHA. Anyway, eventually he told them it was me but they refused to believe it. We were speculating that P was desperately trying to communicate her delusions to everyone:) And when Gabriel asked them how they wanted him to prove it, some guys suggested that he kissed me, and P so subtly objected by saying that they "didn't care anymore" and that "it's not that interesting" (or something like that), hahaha.

After more stoning at various corners of the house, we ended up in his bedroom, all the E3 people were seated in a circle and I was sitting next to Gabriel. I could catch P shooting daggers at me/us with that inferno of hatred in her eyes. And apparently I missed P's "my world is fucked" look that Valerie kept doing an awesome impression of :D It went something like this:

P rolled her eyes at us for all they were worth, then she grimaced in pain, massaging her nose bridge as though she was suffering a migraine.

Can't believe I missed it!

And then Valerie had to leave soon after cake-cutting :( She was supposed to leave at 8, but we kept her til well after 11 (but she still missed a good show, more on this later). She was drawing "Free Service" vouchers for her sister, and I helped to draw Homer and Marge Simpson :) Oh oh, Domtan experienced some romance at the party. This really cute girl of perhaps 8 kept prancing up and down the stairs and stealing glances at our handsome maestro at the piano :) It was super cute, haha.

We ended up alone in Gabriel's room again, Valerie watched me play GTA San Andreas, which was fucking retarded because some buttons weren't w0rking, hahaha. Domtan and Phyllis were freaking playing chess, exerting their brains on Christmas Eve, befuddling Mah and I who preferred doing spastic things on GTA :)

VALERIE AND DOMTAN, you guys missed an awesome show :( We were in the game room: P was chatting with Denyse in front of the shelves; the guys were still hooked to the Xbox; Gabriel, Gerald, his cousins, Phyllis and I went to the back of the room behind the shelves to just sit around. Then Gerald brought up the topic of P, and I quote exactly,

"The one with the ugly legs."
And she was only a shelf's breadth away. Jeremiah was even more awesome. Initially I was trying to avoid him because Gabriel told me that he was a "really crude" person who focused a lot on appearances, so I was really paranoid he'd embarrass me or something (he didn't, thank god). Anyway, Jeremiah stood up, walked to the front of the room, scrutinised P totally indiscreetly, returned, and practically yelled "VERY UGLY." Phyllis and I were simply stunned. Gosh.

I left shortly after 12, because the cousins were going to start opening their presents, and as Gabriel and I were walking towards the gate, his dad shook hands with me and I thanked him, and

"Where are you going?"
"Umm, home."
"You were supposed to stay and help me clean up. Who's going to do it after you leave?"
I couldn't think of anything to say, and Gabriel the smart ass told me to say
"You."
Hahaha, hopefully his dad was drunk enough :)

AND THE FUN ISN'T OVER YET.

Gabriel and I were strolling out, and guess who we saw just a few metres in front of us.

Justin and Pearlie.

Hahahaha we decided to walk faster and try and catch up with them, but according to Gabriel, she only spotted us when we were getting me a cab. Holy shit she saw us holding hands. Merry christmas to her.

She sounds really happy in her 25th December post, but we all know how to read between the lines, don't we.

Oh yes one more thing. He told me today that she texted him her blessings, and hopes that we'll last a long time.

This has been one unbelievable Christmas.

Top of the world

Sleepover at Astley's was great. Watching Shooter (bloody awesome movie) in Thai was hilarious. Best quote from Charmaine Lim:

"You paid $75 for a $50 (Forever 21) voucher?"

I think there were more, but I don't remember!

*

Yesterday I brought Fong to Crumpler to give him a SURPRISE and made him buy stuff from B (I hope you earn commission), hahaha.
The Day The Earth Stood Still wasn't really as good as I thought, I'm so sad that Keanu Reeves, he didn't really have a major role though, not even screentime and speaking lines. He looked a little too skinny but mesmerising all the same. Fong told me that Phyllis texted him during the movie to tell him to kiss me the moment the grey flesh fell off of Reeves (the semi-nude scene) and he said he didn't do it because he knew how much I liked Reeves, hahaha! Keanu Reeves is part Chinese and yet his pronounciation is so screwed up. Comic relief maybe, hahaha. Picnic was awesome, though once again there was too much unecessary travelling because we'd waited for nearly half an hour at the bus interchange before he noticed from the notice that bus no. 409 didn't operate on weekdays. And I just realised that.. YESTERDAY WAS A SATURDAY -.- Hohoho, who's the clueless one now. HAHA! Such geniuses. Anyway, we went to Fort Canning instead :) Thank you Charlatan for your directions (AND WE ARE MEETING UP SOON AREN'T WE!) :)

The "cookies" I made were a disaster. They had a rubbery texture and tasted funky. Mr Fong threw one at a wall and it bloody bounced off. I think I forgot to add enough seasoning to the pasta, but he said I was "not bad" a cook :) Oh oh, whilst we were on our long bus ride, he told me about this funny incident in Korea. He and his family (including his cousins) were at the table eating oranges and drinking, then suddenly his dad (who was drunk) shouted across the room, "When are you going to fuck that little girl of yours?" And his reply was, "I already did." Apparently everyone was drunk so they didn't catch it, loud and indiscreet as the conversation was. What an eccentric dad.

Turkey dinner tomorrow, yay :) I bloody hate Crumpler, slave-driving corporation. We'll miss you, B ! We'll pack some food for you ok :)

Tonight

I met up with Astley today, and it was nice to apply all I learnt from Sophie's World to proper debates with a fellow human and not just steep in the lonely company of myself (Fong is coming back TONIGHT, tomorrow morning at 2am actually, but still). I think Xie will make a good philosopher because he asks infuriatingly annoying questions that ultimately make you question your state of mind.. As well as the state of your life. He posed a few questions to me and the bottomline of it was convince me that I didn't love Fong. Therefore the notion of his being to me remotely soulmatish was ridiculous and should be discarded immediately. I wish I had a transcript of our debates today, some points hit bone sharply, enough to make one who is only slightly less than tenacious to renounce love. Xie's sole purpose of existing in my world (that is, in close/immediate proximity) today was to with compelling arguments beyond dispute move me to declare that "I don't love Fong". I was confronted with the question I've been shirking slyly away from within the probing confines of my own conscience: Would I choose Fong over my friends? I used to tell P I would definitely pick friendship over love (haha, the irony), and together we marvelled (to put it nicely) at how certain people would condone their significant others' monopoly of their time and estrange themselves from their friends (most of which, more often than not, have more staying power than the tentative presence of a boy/girlfriend).

Enough said, Fong's coming back tonight and I'll probably be seeing him tomorrow, so all's good! I'm only halfway through Sophie's World when I'd promised myself to finish it before he gets back so I can start on Homer's The Odyssey (in poetry). The holidays are ending so I need to finish these two books. Oh, let's not forget I still have "God of Small Things", recommended by Ms Ow. By the way, I got GPA again! I'm going to get more Foer and Eugenides titles (poetry) with the remuneration. There are so many more books I want to get.

If I screw up my O's, at least I'll have enough to occupy myself with (instead of entertaining suicidal thoughts) whilst I'm hiding out in a boxcar underneath a bridge and avoiding calls from my mom (or anyone actually).

Speaking of screw, Valerie! I thought we were supposed to work towards getting abs together, you traitor!

*

After yoga class today my mom and I brought grandma and grandpa to Crystal Jade for lunch and I finally had dimsum (and xiaolongbao omg)! It was so awesome.

Something more awesome: I walked home from Toa Payoh Hub because I don't want to mope around at home (too much). I tried to follow the bus route for 2 stops but I got lost, hahaha. There must be some vestigial characteristics of my foraging female ancestors in me because I managed to find my way back to Bishan and proceeded home from there (on foot). If Fong ever attempts something like this, he'll probably end up in Malaysia because I'm certain he won't even know how to use the compass I gave him.

Japan photos will be up on my Flickr (I'll post the link here once I get it all sorted out)!

Edit
I have just had (my customary bowl of) oatmeal AGAIN. I must be lacking some vital nutrients in my diet that drives me to NEED to have oatmeal for supper every night. Maybe I should try keeping the kitchen oatmeal-free (once the existing supply is depleted and it shouldn't take long) and report whatever withdrawal symptoms I experience. Besides lacking the aforementioned and unknown vital nutrients in my diet..

I must repeat once more that I'm lacking very much Fong in my life right now. Hahaha I know you're cringing and sick of hearing me go on and on about it but I'm also deprived of much human contact now >:(

I'd love to post the unglam pic of him (that he sent me, hahaha) but I shall be considerate and not pull a P on him. That bloody slut showed him all my unglam photos, what a whore. It's thanks to her I'm starting to curse so very crudely. Fucking slut.

I'm going to bed now, so that I'll have only 3 days of loneliness left to withstand.

Fong, I miss you..

December 13, 2008 | 8:19 PM
Day 3

When I'm with you
I'll make every second count
'cause I miss you whenever you're not around
when I kiss you
I still get butterflies
years from now,
I'll make every second count
when I'm with you

I'm bloody lovesick right now :(
Valerie Mah and I visited Huang yesterday, and he loved the shirt! It was nice meeting up with Mah after so long!

Up next will be:

- Biking expedition with Mah and Tan, because bloody Crumpler is a slavedriving corporation and therefore Goh cannot join us :((((( I'm so disappointed that my chin is drooping 10 storeys.

- Turkey with Mah and Tan and FONG, oh gosh. I think Mah and I will totally drive Fong up the wall with our craziness with Tan is already exasperated and amused with, and therefore will join us :D Pool pool pool!

And with Lim, Lim and Xie:

- Sleepover. But Lim (female one) is not back from Taiwan yet, or she is simply so scatterbrained she forgot to call me back/text me.

I'm a horrible blogger, hahaha.
5 days to go.

December 11, 2008 | 6:12 PM
You keep me without chains

7 days left to go.

Hahahaha now I know why they say "I love you" is one of the hardest things to say (as well as "I'll miss you" and "There won't be a day that'll pass that I won't think of you").

I miss you very very much.

December 9, 2008 | 10:34 PM

Johnson says:
okay, and he said the part where you gave me a hug while crying sounded like the first verse of the song 'you'll be my heart' in the tarzan movie

If you haven't heard the song, here are the lyrics:

Come stop your crying,
It'll be all right
Just take my hand
Hold it tight
I will protect you
From all around you
I will be here don't you cry

For one so small
You seem so strong
My arms will hold you
Keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here
Don't you cry

'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart...
...Always

Why can't they understand
The way we feel
They just don't trust
What they can't explain
I know we're different
But deep inside us
We're not that different at all

And you'll be in my heart
Yes you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more

Don't listen to them
'Cause what do they know
We need each other
To have, to hold
They'll see in time
I know

When destiny calls you
You must be strong
I may not be with you
But you got to hold on
They'll see in time
I know
We'll show them together!

'Cause you'll be in my heart (Believe me)
You'll be in my heart (I'll be there)
From this day on
Now and forever more
You'll be in my heart (you'll be here in my heart)
You'll be in my heart (I'll be with you)
From this day on
Now and forever more
You'll be in my heart

Always!
I'll be with you!
I'll be there for you always
Always and always
Just look over your shoulder
I'll be there
Always

OMG SO COOL RIGHT. The first verse totally described the scene, hahahahahaha.
